“Fragments of Life”

Shot with Olympus 35RD

The concept of fragments has been a constant resource of inspiration in my storytelling. Since the day I first read about it, the concept has lingered in my mind, eliciting truths from the past life by uncovering those obscured pieces and weaving them into a coherent narrative.

“ These fragments can be identified one by one: places from childhood, family members, school friends, some gentle or atmospheric words, and some very tense moments. Organize these pieces, and you can start telling the story. But there are always some things that don't work, as if these fragments each have their own agenda. They can form forces that either align or oppose each other: some want to appear clearly in the daylight, while others try to hide in the depths. Then, suddenly, many fragments disappear, and those that remain solidly stick together. ”

- Elena Ferrante from Women at Work

Everytime I revisit my country, the feeling of being an outsider is accompanied by a sense of objectivity, wandering and peering to gather those resonant materials.
